How to Reinvent Your Wardrobe

Your personal style can evolve overtime. So reinventing your wardrobe from time to time is a great way to update what you already own. We have all said this to ourselves at a point in time… “ I have nothing to wear”. Restyling your wardrobe can be a tricky task. This requires time, patience, and organization. But it’s well worth the effort, and not to mention, it will save you money! Here are some tips on how to reinvent your wardrobe.

What do you already have in your closet?

Thoroughly  review what you already have in your closet. It’s very important to see what you have to work with. Group items according to color, types of top and bottoms, dressy, casual, etc. Once you can visually see what you have, you can start putting outfits together easier

What kind of new look you want to achieve.

Research! The internet is a very useful tool to help you accomplish the kind of look that you want to go for. Pinterest is a good starting point. Save all your searches into a “look-book” that you can refer back to.

Take your current statement pieces and wear them in a new way.

This step will be different for everyone, but here are a few suggestions that may help you along the way:

Review your blouses and tops. I have a lot of flowy tops and I like to tuck the front of them in high waisted jeans for a chic look.

Take a casual dress and pair it with a structured blazer for a more polished look and and wear to the office. Thrown in some accessories like a statement necklace or bracelet to dress it up even more.

What’s missing from your wardrobe.

Look at your wardrobe and  make an assessment of what’s missing.  Make a list of pieces that would maximize your clothes. For example, simple black blazer, neutral belt, plain button down white blouse can help you create more outfit ideas.
